Jim Carrey has listed his mansion in Los Angeles for sale and it's going off for a massive sum. The "sanctuary" has been his place of residence for nearly 30 years and now it's time for another lucky owner to call it home.
The actor who announced his plans to retire last year holds the house close to his heart, but it's time to let it go.

The lavish structure spanning 12,700 square feet is located in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, and Carrey purchased the building in 1994, which means it's been his for about 30 years.
The expansive mansion is listed on the market for $28.9 million as he revealed to The New York Post on Monday (yesterday) that he was ready for changes in his life.
According to records, the house featured five-bedroom, nine-bathrooms, and he bought it for $3.8 million in 1994.
The actor continued in his interview that he wanted someone else to enjoy the home.
"For three decades it's been a sanctuary for me but I don't spend a lot of time there now and I want someone else to enjoy it like I have."
He told the Wall Street Journal that the home was a place of enchantment and inspiration for him over 30 very creative and prosperous years.
“Every night the owls sang me lullabies and every morning I sipped my cup of joe with the hawks and hummingbirds, under a giant grandfather pine."
The home, which he purchased before he released his first hit movie, "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective," sits on 2 acres. It's a one-story ranch home that sits behind 280 feet of hedged frontage in Brentwood.
The living, dining, and family rooms have massive ceilings, skylights, fireplaces, and glass doors that lead to a courtyard patio. The kitchen has a breakfast room with a breathtaking view of pear trees outside.
In April 2022, the 61-year-old Golden Globe winner announced his retirement plans after the release of Sonic The Hedgehog 2. Carrey opened up that he felt he had done enough and he was ready for "Cha cha cha cha … Changes."
The star, who broke out in the early 90s, revealed that he enjoys his quiet life, painting on canvas, and loves his spiritual life, adding that
"If the angels bring some sort of script that's written in gold ink that says to me that it's going to be really important for people to see, I might continue down the road, but I'm taking a break."
One of the highlights of the building is the bricked pathway lined with shady trees and small bushes. It also boasts of a white-trimmed archway in the middle of a bricked wall that provides a nice feel and stays inviting.
The property also has a large pool house that sits close to the swimming pool. It contains a full bar, excellent for those summer pool parties. There's also an outdoor spa area with an infrared sauna and a steam room creating an oasis.
