Bachelor Nation Star Sarah Herron Grieves Over Loss of Newborn Son

Bachelor Nation star Sarah Herron mourns the loss of her newborn son, Oliver. The Bachelor Nation alum shared the heartbreaking news on social media. The sad news came just hours after Herron and fiancé Dylan Brown welcomed their son. 

Herron Mourns The Loss Of Her Newborn Son Hours After Birth

The 36-year-old shared the sad news of the death of her newborn son, Oliver on Instagram. She posted a black and white photo with Oliver showing Brown kissing her forehead. Herron wrote a lengthy caption expressing their grief over the loss. The Bachelor Nation alum wrote that words could not describe their pain and loss. "It's beautiful and simultaneously tragic."

She penned Her Pain

The TV star did not hold back on the gush of emotions that flowed through her Instagram post. She wrote of how her late baby boy "fought through many hard milestones." The grinding mother described their short time together which included the little one keeping her company when she had a broken knee. She wrote that her son loved his morning routine of laying "heart to heart with "his brother, Rio," on her lap.

She Reminisced On Their Mom-Son Moments

Oliver was born at 24 weeks but unfortunately passed away in his dad's arms. The Danvers native referred to Oliver as their "IVF miracle." Herron continued that their son fought through several milestones to come into the world. However, other plans were designed for them by the higher powers. 

She Was Grateful For The Time They Spent Together

The former reality star then expressed her gratitude for the time they spent with Oliver. She shared he taught them about the integrity of love, death, and life. Herron added Oliver was created with a more meaningful purpose bigger than they understand. She added that although they are sad, they are comforted that his soul only knew love.

 Herron first gained fame in 2013 when she appeared with Bachelor Sean Lowe on the ABC series. That season, Herron came in ninth place and continued her journey with Bachelor Nation. She appeared in the first and third seasons of Bachelor in Paradise. Herron was the first disabled contestant in the history of the franchise.

As a result of amniotic band syndrome, Herron was born with one incomplete arm. After leaving the franchise, she created a nonprofit called SheLift. It offers outdoor retreats for women who have physical differences. 

When Herron And Brown Announced Their First Pregnancy

On November 28, 2022, the Bachelor alum announced she was expecting a baby boy on Instagram. The Instagram picture showed Herron and Brown holding an ultrasound photo and a pair of boots. At that time, Herron also shared the news with People.

Herron Took A Year-long IVF Treatment

She shared that the good news of her pregnancy came after a year-long IVF journey. Herron announced she was in her first trimester then. The former reality star continued that she and Brown knew the road ahead of them was long. However, she wrote that they were optimistic. She continued that they had completed 3 rounds of egg retrievals. 

Herron Once Opened Up About Her IVF Journey

Herron and Brown got engaged in May 2021. She previously talked about her IVF journey. It was on an episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast in 2021 with hosts, Catherine Giudici and Becca Kufrin. Herron shared dealing with infertility was a rollercoaster. Unfortunately, one kind of gets used to the cycle.

She Kept Being Hopeful

At that time, Herron shared she was optimistic, hopeful, and realistic in the journey. Herron also said they will get their baby eventually because she was in very good hands with her doctor.
