Britney Spears has opened up about the reason she deleted her Instagram account last week.

The 41-year-old singer known as the Princess of Pop had fans worried when she suddenly disappeared from the social media platform, prompting many of them to call the police on January 24.

The police responded by checking up on her at her home, and it was determined that she wasn’t in any kind of danger. And then on January 28, the Toxic hitmaker went on Twitter to announce that she was “alive and well.”

“Yep that's me,” her tweet said, which included a video of her dancing. “[T]his is me at a gym living my best life 🏋🏼‍♀️ !!!”

In another tweet, Spears addressed her decision to disable her Instagram account.

“I shut down my Instagram because there were too many people saying I looked like an idiot dancing and that I looked crazy,” she wrote. “Honestly I was doing my best but it disturbed me to see people freely talk about it on TV ... yep it hurt my feelings.”

The icon admitted she was “sensitive” about those things but tried to lighten up the mood as well.
