Tyre's Lawyer Describes The Video As 'Heinous'

The body cam video of the arrest was seen by Tyre's family's lawyer, Ben Crump, who described it as "appalling" and "heinous" and compared it to the beating of Rodney King.

The Policemen Involved Were Terminated

Immediately after Nichols' death, all 5 of the cops involved were terminated, and on Thursday, they were all detained and accused of second-degree murder. They are also accused of government oppression, official misconduct, and aggravated kidnapping.

A Disregard Of Human Rights

Today, one day after five police officers were charged with killing the Black man, bodycam video of the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols will be made publicly available.

The footage will be made public on Friday night by Memphis officials, who have warned that viewers would be able to see how the officers displayed a "disregard for basic human rights."

Tyre Suffered Severe Bleeding

The five officers are accused of brutally beating Nichols, 29, during a traffic check on January 7. He passed away in a hospital three days later. According to an independent autopsy, his family made it public: he had "severe bleeding" before passing away.

The Cops Were Charged For Second-Degree Murder

The following cops were charged with second-degree murder on Thursday: Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., and Justin Smith.

After the other four suspects secured bonds and were released from jail, Mr. Haley was the only one in custody as of Friday morning.
