While Jeremy Renner keeps making progress regarding his recovery, new details have emerged covering his terrifying snowplow accident. And according to the latest development, Renner had been a real-life hero when he got badly injured.

New Details About Jeremy Renner's Injury

More light has been shed concerning the accident and according to the redacted report from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Renner gave an account of what happened to investigators. This was when he was back at the hospital. He recalled how he was helping his cousin with a stuck truck in the rain. He shared that he had chucked the vehicle from his driveway onto the street on New Year's Day.

Things Went South

What appeared to be a regular day of fixing a truck quickly took a turn for worse when Renner's snowplow, a PistenBully snow groomer started sliding down the side. He relayed that the machine rolled down the hill causing him to be alarmed. He quickly jumped out of its way, and while he was safe, he saw that the snowplow was headed in his nephew's direction.

Renner Tried To Save His Nephew

The Hawkeye star became apprehensive that the PistenBully would run his nephew over. He spun into action as he tried diverting the machine. From reports, Renner tried accessing the cab of the plow, but as he made a move to climb it, he was instead "immediately pulled under the left side track."

More Details From The New Report

ET reports that the PistenBully was said to have rolled over the immobile Renner and continued sliding down the road. The actor tried to stay on the ground while focusing on his breathing as his nephew alerted other family members. The family was able to keep him safe until the medical team arrived. It was also revealed that when he initially exited the snowplow, he did not leave the emergency brakes on.

Some Mechanical Issues

Authorities stated that the snowplow had some mechanical issues, and although the accident could have been avoided if the emergency brakes were on, the mechanical issues could not be ruled out. The report read, "Although the PistenBully had some mechanical issues, it is believed based on our mechanical inspection that the parking brake would keep the PistenBully from moving forward."

He's Still On The Mend

Renner is currently at home, gradually regaining his strength and getting back to his routine, but he needs 30 bones to heal. The Marvel star took to Instagram to share updates on his recovery and it included a photo of him amid physical therapy. He took the moment to thank supporters before noting the measures that will help him get back on his feet
