According to Page Six, a Los Angeles County medical practitioner made it known that the shocking death of the social media influencer was linked to fentanyl intoxication. A further probe also revealed that methamphetamine was also found in his system following his death.

When news got out that the famous YouTuber had died, authorities shared details of him being found mysteriously dead on a sidewalk. Records also showed that he was unresponsive on the spot. Also at that time, a representative for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed to Page Six that the cause of the test was deferred pending further tests. This implication was that it would take months for the autopsy reports to be available.

In the following days after Jon's body was released to his family members, his ex-wife and fellow media personality Jaclyn Hill took to her Instagram page on behalf of his family. She penned, "I was asked by Jon’s family to post this next slide. It is with profound remorse and sorrow that we must report that our beloved Andrew Jonathan Hill passed away on Aug. 10, 2022."

Days after the announcement, Jaclyn posted an emotional tribute to Jon describing him as the "most kind & compassionate person." She recalled him being the type to look people in the eyes and show that he cared about what they had to say." She relayed that Jon turned his "pain into art and touched so many people" with honesty in his craft.

Jon and Jaclyn were a social media power couple with the former showing off his musical skills and the latter exploring her talent as a beauty influencer. The duo became man and wife in 2009 and were married for nine years. The Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics founder and her content creator husband announced that they were ending their union because they did not go together as husband and wife.

Once in a 2019 interview with Billboard, Jon revealed details of his drug addiction and how he struggled with it. He relayed that his drug issues played a key role in his and Jaclyn's divorce. He shared that during the third year of their marriage, his drug intake got so bad that he would often get seizures because of the amount of "stuff" he took. He stated that Jaclyn was ready for separation when he eventually became sober.
