Pink Shares Struggles Of Touring With Her Kids: It's 'F—ing Impossible At Times'

In a recent exclusive interview with Billboard, Pink opens up about the struggle of being a touring musician while raising an eight-year-old and a two-year-old.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Pink opened up about what it's really like to be a working mom — but more specifically, what it's like to be a touring musician and a mother at the same time.

She is currently wrapping up her Trauma World Tour this month.

If you didn't already know, Pink and her husband, Carey Hart, have a two-year-old son, Jameson, and an eight-year-old daughter, Willow.

Juggling that with being on the road is "[expletive] impossible at times," Pink admitted.

Back in May, in an interview with Redbook magazine, Pink said that she, of course, prioritizes her children over touring.

“When touring stops working for the kids, if they decide they just want to be home and have a normal life, whatever that means, I’ll stop because they are by far the priority,” she said.

“I think it’s cool that they get to see their mom be the boss and work really freaking hard to realize a dream.

"I’d say it’s 95 percent positive,” she went on.

She explained that she doesn't want to be the type of mother that simply hands their children off to a nanny if she can help it.

“If I had nannies raising my kids and just wanted to be a rock star and party all the time, I wouldn’t be successful and I wouldn’t be happy," she added.

“I’ve never juggled so many damn plates in my life, but it’s because I want to. I enjoy it.”

At the time, it seemed like it was full steam ahead on the working mom front.

But since then, it looks like juggling all of those plates has begun to weigh on her.

“There have been many times when I have been sitting in the corner of arena bathrooms crying,” she told Billboard.

“[I’ve said] to myself, ‘There’s a reason why women don’t do this, there’s a reason why moms don’t do this,'" she continued.

“I’d say the hardest part is just trying to figure it all out."

"I signed up for this when I was 16 and now I have children and I have a marriage."

“I just want to always make sure that I’m doing right by them," she went on.

It’s not a simple puzzle anymore — it’s not just me,” she added.

She then revealed that she's had to acknowledge that one of her children has had about enough of life on the road.

“The last couple of months, Willow was over it,” she said.

“She wants to be home and do BMX and swim team and gymnastics".

"All the [expletive] that an 8-year-old wants to do."

She explained that since realizing her daughter is over it, she knew it was time to go back to a more domestic lifestyle.

"So, she was asking to go home, and that’s when I knew: From here on out, it changes.”

And as I mentioned, as of this month, Pink will be concluding her world tour, and heading back home.

Kudos to Pink for managing to take on so much for so long — if anybody deserves a break, it's her!

Being a mother of two is hard enough on its own, without the added stresses of being on a world tour.

To all you working moms out there, you're the real MVPs.
