This season's renewal news is a major feat for a show that almost didn't survive the pandemic. Barrymore proved that she could hold her own amongst established talk show hosts as she introduced a fresh perspective on daytime TV.

It's also a timely replacement for The Ellen Show, which ran for about 21 years.

Barrymore's show guests are a mix of upper-echelon stock and regular people, which makes it very exciting and different.

This season, the show welcomed President Joe Biden and the first lady, Dr. Jill Biden (politics), Cameron Diaz (okay, Charlie's Angels reunion), Katy Perry (singer), and more.

The TV show host opened up about her decision to interview regular people alongside her peers and other industry people. Barrymore didn't want to be just another talk show host speaking with celebrities, as there are many like that already.

Her formula proved smart as she increased her ratings within two years of launching the show, even when people told her she'd fail.

This plan helped skyrocket her show's ratings as she reached 1.21 million viewers, with an increase in every city. Philadelphia had the highest increase at 35%, then Chicago at 6%, and New York at 4%.

Airtime For 'The Drew Barrymore Show'

Barrymore's subsequent seasons would air on CBS-controlled TV stations at 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. after the local news and later at 2:00 p.m. As the number four most-watched talk show on the station, The Drew Barrymore Show is here to stay, especially if it keeps its steady growth pace.

The Team Is Excited

The President and co-head of CBS Media, Wendy McMahon, praised the star for growing creatively and attracting new audiences daily.

Barrymore and the team are excited about the upcoming season and shared their feelings via Instagram.

More Surprises In Season 4
