"Bennifer" - Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck rekindling their romance and getting married was one of the pop culture highlights of 2022, and now the award-winning singer opens up about the reality of blending her family.
Lopez went into that marriage with two children, while Affleck has three children from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner.
Six months after their Vegas wedding, Bennifer's children moved in with them. The Grammy-nominated singer called it an emotional transition, saying even though she couldn't be happier for her new family of seven, it's been emotional.
"We moved in together, the kids moved in together. It's been like a really kind of emotional transition but at the same time all your dreams coming true."
Affleck was married to Garner, the mother of his children, between 2005 and 2018 while the father of Lopez's children is Marc Anthony whom she married between 2004 and 2014. The singer also had other high profile relationships after her divorce including her engagement with Alex Rodriguez.
Despite being married to other people, the couple maintains they're each other's soulmates, and their marriage was inevitable. Truly, Bennifer could've tied the know in 2001 if not for the media scrutiny of their relationship leading to a nasty public breakup.
They made their dream a reality last Summer in a shotgun Vegas wedding but held a bigger ceremony later in August. However, the ceremony included only their closest family and friends. Fans got a sneak peek via an Instagram Reel posted to Lopez's feed.
Fans only get titbits that they deem fit to reach the internet as they're determined not to make the same mistakes that broke them up the first time. Lopez admitted that she's more protective of her marriage now that she and Affleck have a second chance at love.
The couple cares about the impact of their relationship with their children, and now that everyone lives under the same roof, they don't want to ruin it.
During a promo interview for her upcoming movie with Josh Duhamel, Shotgun Wedding, Lopez said her husband is dreamy and a sweetheart. She dedicated a new music album, This is Me... Now, to him in response to her 2002 album, This Is Me... Then.
She summarized their relationship and marriage as commitment to be there for each other no matter the circumstances. Go Bennifer! We're all rooting for them.
