Pregnancy is a journey, one embarked on by both the father and mother. This could include enjoying quality time together, picking out baby names, learning fun facts about babies, shopping for baby items, setting up the nursery, and going to doctors' appointments together. It is safe to say that it is ideal for the expectant dad to make time with his pregnant partner because this often means more than just providing funds, and when such emotional needs are not met, things could definitely turn ugly.

A pregnant Reddit user who had to take matters into her own hands faced quite a challenging situation with he partner as he opted to engage in other activities other than make it to her doctor's appointments. She recently reached out to the AITA subreddit to share her story.

The Redditor's Husband Seemed To Be Uninvolved

The pregnant woman shared that she and her spouse were expecting their first child and were quite excited about the development. However, she had an issue with how he was not involved in the medical part of it all. She relayed that whenever she had a doctor's appointment, he would either decline or be unavailable.

The woman made it known that her husband often preferred to spend time with his friends or give excuses that were not valid. She shared that her spouse was willing to miss her medical appointment for a game of soccer, a drink, or board games with his friends. Whenever she asked him to go with her, he would often have a brash response by saying, "I'm not the one carrying the baby, why do I have to go see the dr with you?"

The Reddit user noted that she had had enough of his husband's elusive and nonchalant attitude during her last doctor's appointment. This time, it was the couple's gender reveal appointment and he was supposed to be there with her. As usual, she asked him, and like always he declined.

The expectant mom stated that her spouse declined to go with her at the last minute because he wanted to hang out with his friends at the chippy. Instead of going with his wife, he chose to see his friends over a meal of fish and chips. The woman relayed that she was quite upset, but decided not to make a fuss while choosing to take action.

The Redditor went for her appointment accompanied by he mother, and a few hours later, she received a text message from her husband, he was making what the baby's gender was, but she refused to reply. The soon-to-be mother stated that her spouse soon started spam-calling her and she declined all the calls. He returned home to her fuming about the declined calls and demanding that she told him the baby's gender.

The woman had chosen to keep the gender to herself and she made it known to her husband She explained that because he chose not to go with her, he would find out about their baby's gender at birth. Thus git hi riled up and aback-andpforth ensued. The original poster relayed that her significant other referred to her as "spiteful, and immature" for making her decision while choosing to punish him.

He kept on demanding to know the result while stating that he was the father and he had a right to know. He further lashed out at his pregnant wife calling her dramatic. This was because he felt she was blowing things out of proportion because her mother had accompanied her to the doctor's office. The woman stated that she stood her ground still.

In her update, the mom-to-be informed other users that her husband tried to find out the baby's gender his own way. He tried contacting the doctor through his mother, but because it was a third-party thing, the physician declined. This further escalated the situation as the woman and her husband got into another argument. Other Redditors Shared their opinions and showed her some support.
