Cooper first moved Campano into his house during the pandemic, and they've continued staying together. He said she sleeps in a room next to his, not some guesthouse, as many may think.

He doesn't want the 80-something year old woman to feel lonely since his father is no longer here to keep her company.

Cooper's late father battled with cancer in his final years causing the actor to move back home and take a break from acting. He explained that his family was close-knit, so it was important for him to give his mother the love and care that's always been with them.

The actor moved his mother to live with him because "[they] need each other."

It's surprising to fans because of the rumors that Cooper reunited with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, Irina Shayk. However, Campano and Shayk have a good relationship as the duo sat in the front row at the 2019 Oscars.

Cooper moving his mother into his L.A. home also came from a place of health concerns as Campano had a medical vulnerability. Despite being rich, the actor admitted that living with his mother isn't always a walk in the park.

It came in handy during the pandemic, though, because she could spend time with her granddaughter, Lea.

Cooper and his mother often walk important red carpets together whether he has a special lady. After following him to the 2019 Oscars with Shayk, Campano joined her son on the carpet again in 2022.

Campano is not so far removed from her son's career as she once consulted for his movie, Joy, featuring Jennifer Lawrence as his love interest and lead actress. The film's director drew inspiration from Campano's knowledge of QVC as Joy sold her Miracle Mop on the channel.

The most awkward question Cooper gets about his mother living in his house is about her relationship with his girlfriends. She was closest with Shayk and often went out either walking the dog or shopping.

Cooper's colleagues also enjoy Campano's company, like when she went to the Oscars and got a shout-out from Julia Roberts. Also, she wore an Audrey Hepburn brooch she bought on QVC, leaving everyone in awe.

Many people believe Cooper and his mother are a package deal.
