In the clip, Devin explained she landed the job soon after leaving college. According to her, the job seemed great initially, even though she knew she would work late hours. With encouragement from others on how manageable it was, Devin worked diligently until about 10 pm and saw it as okay.

However, it was only a matter of time before things worsened at her job. Every day at 2 am, there was a team check-in meeting, with work assigned to the employees, which was to be done immediately after the check-in meeting.

The new tasks meant that employees would not get any sleep after the meeting.

Consequently, it became too weird for employees as they had to inform colleagues when they were taking a bath.

According to Devin, the information was to ensure workers knew their colleague was only taking a bath and not accidentally sleeping. Reflecting on how weird it was, Devin rhetorically asked her followers:

"Why are we all telling each other when we are showering?"

Next, the content creator recalled another strange instance. According to Devin, at about 1 am one morning, her colleague Greg went to shower but didn't inform enough people.

Devin said it caused so much worry that other co-workers were about to send a SWAT team to Greg's house because they couldn't find him when he was just in the shower.

While the hectic tempo was as bad as it could get, it wasn't the final straw that broke the camel's back. For Devin, what truly caused her to quit was what happened with the company on her birthday.

According to her, she had told the company months before that she would be absent on that day, as she had to attend her sister's wedding. Sadly, the company wasn't pleased with it, but Devin was eventually permitted to be absent.

As it was a Sunday, Devin expected to be free from work-related calls, texts, and emails, but the opposite was the case. While sitting at her sister's wedding, the content creator began getting many calls and messages from work.

Devin said she was stunned by the lack of understanding from her colleagues, but the next statement from a co-worker put her on edge. In her words:

"And someone was like yeah, other people on my other teams work even on their own wedding day, and I was like okay, well, then they're like truly not okay people."

Without wasting any more time, Devin said she quit her job and gave in her two weeks' notice, but her co-workers seemed unbothered, making her conclude that she would need over a decade to recover from the experiment.

Since the clip was shared on TikTok, it has garnered over three million views with thousands of comments. Several netizens were curious about the type of job Devin did that required such a tight schedule. On the other hand, some TikTokers guessed she was working for a Big 4 Accounting/Finance Firm.

Surprisingly, their guesses were right. Devin said she worked for one of these four big firms, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, KPMG, and PWC. Other netizens also noted they had the same experience working with these organizations.

A YouTuber once recalled working for about 65 hours a week and sometimes 70+ hours at certain times of the year. She even did 87 hours a week while working for one of the Big 4 accounting companies. Overall, there will always be varying degrees of dystopian corporate toxicity.
