Hilary Duff isn't afraid to pen an essay on being a bad mother, even as fans think she's the best one around. The Younger star said she was "such a bad mom" back in 2020 as she continues to show exemplary parenting to kids Luca, Mae, and Banks.

Talking Being A Bad Mom

In a Mother's Day essay, the Hollywood star spoke of feeling like a failure as she dropped her son Luca at school when all the other kids had fun outfits. She had forgotten and messed up - "Oh my God, you failed," the blonde wrote as she penned the essay for Refinery 29.

"There have been times when I've forgotten milk for my 18-month-old daughter, Banks," she continued:

"She'll be out with me all day and we're sitting in traffic and it's time for her to have her milk and she's hysterical. And I'm here digging through my bag like, How could I forget her milk? I manage to give her milk at the same time every day. How did I blow that?"

Blaming Herself

Duff also spoke of stress as she discussed the "pressure" that comes with motherhood. In fact, she said that "guilt" can lead to her feeling that she is being a bad mom.

Keeps Her Awake

While Hilary likely needs her eight hours, she is often kept awake by her thoughts of guilt. "It's crazy," she said while outlining how feelings of torment can prevent her from falling asleep. Also addressed were the struggles of nursing.

Nursing Problems

The Lizzie McGuire star noted how there is so much "pressure to be able to nurse." Nursing isn't always possible or easy for some mothers. She said that it "consumes your brain" and can be the only thought on one's mind throughout the day.

Shamed For A Kiss

Hilary also spoke of being mom-shamed after posting a shot of herself kissing her son Luca on the lips during a Disneyland trip. She admitted to feeling "confused" at the feedback.

Loves Them More Than Anything

Obvious from the essay was the love that Duff has for her kids. "I cannot imagine not being a parent," she wrote, adding that her love for them surpasses "anything."

Fans Love Her IG Posts

Hilary has called her stretch marks "battle wounds" and fans seem to love her raw motherhood approach.
