For an athlete, the journey to the top of their respective sport can be extremely difficult and challenging. On the road to the top, every athlete needs a strong support system to celebrate the good days and be there on the bad days. For seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger was exactly that. The former lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls was by Hamilton's side as he won his first two world drivers championships. Unfortunately after that, the couple ended their relationship and were not on talking terms for a while.
How a Red Carpet Event Mended a Bitter Relationship Between Exes Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Scherzinger
The Beginning and the End
Hamilton and Scherzinger met at the 2007 MTV Europe Music Awards in Munich. Both of them instantly hit it off and started dating shortly after. For seven years, the pair had an on-and-off relationship that regularly featured in British tabloids. According to reports, the couple called it quits after Scherzinger wanted more commitment from Hamilton than he was willing to give since he was more focused on his career.
For the first time since they broke up, Hamilton and Scherzinger were spotted together during a red carpet event at the Fashion Awards held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The seven-time world champion was spotted wearing an all-black outfit with a formal jacket that appeared to be made out of sequins. The Pussycat Dolls star on the other hand was wearing a black dress with a plunging neckline showing ample cleavage. The former couple was reported to have spent ample time together talking and catching up about the past.
Who Are They Dating Now?
Ever since his break up with Nicole Scherzinger, the 38-year-old F1 star has not had a long-term relationship with anyone. While he has been linked with some of the hottest names, he has not been in a relationship for a while. Scherzinger on the other hand has been dating Scottish Rugby player Thom Evans since February 2020.
A Tough 2022
Lewis Hamilton lost the chance to break Michael Schumacher's record for the most driver's titles after losing out the final race of the 2021 season to Max Verstappen. While many believed that he would have another shot in 2022, the car produced by Mercedes suffered heavily from porpoising early on in the season and spent most of the season trying to fix that issue. This meant that Mercedes were nowhere near the front as Max Verstappen and Redbull ran away with another title. It was also the first season since his debut that Lewis Hamilton finished a season without a win.
