Emilia Clarke's Strict Dating Rule: "No More Co-Stars" After Many Fails

Celebrity relationships are one of the biggest talking points across all platforms. Each and every single fan is extremely curious to know who their favorite A-list celebrities are dating or potentially linked with. While a lot of celebrities are open about their relationship, others are much more reserved. Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is one such actor who prefers to keep her love life a secret. While she has been in public relationships before, Clarke has always shied away from talking about them in depth.

The Game of Thrones star's first public relationship was with director Seth MacFarlane who she dated from 2012 to 2013. It was exactly during this time that Clark blew up thanks to her role in Game of Thrones that was slowly starting to become a cultural phenomenon. The actress revealed that when she started receiving a lot of recognition, she started to hide parts of her life as she did not want it to be exposed to the public. The 36-year-old also compared dating as a famous person to wearing a stupid hat on a date. An expression first coined by actor Simon Pegg.

Hiding From the Media

After breaking up with director Charlie McDowell in 2019, Clarke was linked with a number of her co-stars including the likes of Kit Harrington and Jason Momoa. However, none of these relationships were confirmed. The 38-year-old revealed that she had been successful in hiding her relationships from the media and that the only one she was willing to reveal was her relationship with Jai Courtney. The pair met on the on the sets of Terminator Genisys and dated for a while. Unfortunately, demands of their hectic work schedules meant that they could not sustain a relationship.

New Rules

After multiple failed relationship with co-stars, Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke now has a new rule for herself: that she will not be dating any more co-stars. Only time will tell if anyone will be able to convince her to change her decision.

Thoughts on Being Alone

Clarke once shared her thoughts on being alone. She said, "People keep asking me who I'm dating right now and the truth is...wait for it...no one. And that's OK. I'm figuring out a lot of stuff right now. I think as a woman it's in our nature to nurture someone else. Sometimes at the expense of ourselves."
