World-renowned tattoo artist, Kat Von D, spends most of her time bringing to life her customer's ideas into reality. The 40-year-old got her first tattoo when she was 14 and quit school two years later to become a tattoo artist. Needless to say, Kat Von D is covered in some of the best designs that either she herself has tattooed or her celebrity tattoo artists have put on her. However, for the 40-year-old, not all tattoos represent a happy memory, she got a few of them when she was drunk and grew to regret them as time went on. The mother of one recently took the necessary steps to hide the ink she regrets.

The 40-year-old took to Instagram to share a picture of her legs. The left one was blacked out from her ankle all the way up to her buttocks minus the portrait of a lady. Kat Von D wrote, "Before anyone starts criticizing, I encourage you to remember that it’s ok not to like or even understand things. Trust me, I’ve seen plenty of tattoos I personally would never get. And those differences make this world so much more interesting! So no need to comment any negativity."

She further added, "Just know that I absolutely LOVE it, and it’s extremely refreshing for me to see all the garbage, drunken tattoos I had scribbled all over my leg that I got before I became sober, be covered by sleekness and simplicity." Kat Von D's latest ink was done by 'Hoode Philly' on Instagram who appears to specialize in blacked-out tattoos.

In 2008, Kat Von D launched her own makeup line with Sephora, then eventually established her own makeup company Kat Von D Beauty. Over the years, the brand has taken a more environment-friendly approach. The brand sells everything from foundations, to concealers and mascara among other things. Despite a number of controversies surrounding the brand, the Kat Von D beauty line remains one of the biggest celebrity makeup lines.
