Jamie Lee Curtis feels emotional this holiday season as she misses her late mother, Janet Leigh, and wishes she were here to see her success. The late actress passed away in 2004 at 77, more than many people in the entertainment industry and world.

However, knowing a parent or loved one lived a long and happy life never eases the pain. With Curtis' career peaking and her family figuring life out, the Halloween actress wishes her mother were alive to see her legacy.

It's A Bittersweet Feeling

Curtis got emotional as she reminisced on her mother's success following Variety's special magazine issue listing The 100 Greatest Movies of All Time. Leigh's classic movie, Psycho, leads the pack.

The 1960 Alfred Hitchcock picture shone as the lead due to the other movies mentioned in the list, including, The Godfather, Pulp Fiction, The Wizard of Oz, Citizen Kane, and Saving Private Ryan.

The 64-year-old added a heartfelt caption explaining why it was a bittersweet moment. Curtis started saying,

"I woke up this morning missing my mother and wishing she could see the beautiful family that I have and that her two daughters are well and thriving and for her to enjoy this magical, creative year I'm having..."

She's indeed had a great year with the release of the final chapter of Halloween, leading this 2022's Halloween movie releases as the top streamer. Also, she's part of the ensemble cast for Everything, Everywhere All At Once, another top streaming release and a social media buzzer.

Like her mother, Curtis' successes come after long years in the entertainment industry. So, it's a full circle moment for the actress, who doesn't take it for granted. She added,

"...How thrilling to see her legacy today through the loving portal of Variety as the number #1 movie of all time."

Leigh died of Vasculitis, a blood vessel disorder that causes inflammation in Beverly Hills, California, after a private struggle with the illness for a year. She left behind her husband, Robert Brandt (they were married for 42 years), and two children, Jamie and Kelly, from her previous marriage to Tony.

Curtis said her mother would be proud to see how well she and her sister are doing. Kelly is also an actress but not as prominent as her younger sister.

Based on Jamie's account, Kelly is contented with her career heights, and there's no jealousy or resentment between them. As the Halloween alum noted, that'll surely make Leigh proud wherever she is.
