Shania Twain is unapologetic over her single cover; Waking up dreaming. Despite facing backlash for posing topless, the artist keeps her head raised high with this one while encouraging women to be more confident in their bodies regardless of how they look.

The iconic singer acknowledged that she wanted to demonstrate to women the importance of learning to feel at ease in their flesh, calling the experience "very fulfilling."

Unashamed Of Her Body

In September the Five-time Grammy winner caused an uproar with a post however she remains unbothered as she recently told People;

"This is me expressing my truth. I'm comfortable in my own skin, and this is the way I am sharing that confidence," Twain said. "I think the best fashion is confidence, and whatever you wear — if you're wearing it with that, it's fashionable. I am a woman in my late 50s, and I don't need to hide behind the clothes. I can't even tell you how good it felt to do nude shooting. I was just so unashamed of my new body, you know, as a woman that is well into my menopause. I'm not even emotional about it; I just feel okay about it. It's really liberating."

Shania Has Always Been Bold

However, this is not the first time that Twain has pushed the boundaries of country music with a bold cover image as She has exposed her midriff and donned a braless outfit for her debut song, "What Made You Say That," from 1993.

How She Struggled With Body Confidence

In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Twain discussed how she struggled with her appearance as a young girl and revealed that she tried to flatten her breasts to prevent violence from her stepdad Jerry.

"I was rejecting what I was growing into, which was very natural. How shameful is that? And not shameful of me, but shameful of that pressure. It was terrible."

However, today Shania is inspiring this generation to be confident in their bodies while using her story as a form of motivation as she feels more comfortable in her skin than she has ever been which is quite glaring even in her recent appearance at the People awards in an abs-baring outfit.
