Collabs between stars and designer lines are a long-standing tradition in Hollywood, and they've borne exciting pieces that have set the trends and broken fashion barriers.

However, some of these collabs go sour due to one thing or the other, just like the one between Justin Bieber and H&M.

The singer is coming out to issue a disclaimer to fans and friends about the collection and even branded it "trash" with reports that he disapproved of its release; The brand has since snapped off the pieces from outlets.

Justin Bieber Is Setting The Record Straight

The Baby singer came out on his Instagram story and urged his fans not to buy any item from the collection which included T-shirts, jumpers, tote bags, and phone accessories as they were being put on sale without his permission.

"The H&M Merch they made out of me is trash and I didn't approve it," The award-winning singer wrote on his Instagram story on Tuesday. "Don't buy it. I didn't approve any of the merch collection that they put up at H&M. All without my permission and approval. I wouldn't buy it if I were you."

H&M Is Defending Their Actions

H&M is however insisting that they followed due process in releasing the line, but they've now pulled down the collection in response to Bieber's rants, but not before releasing a statement and defending their reputation.

"As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M followed proper approval procedures," a spokesperson for the fashion retailer said. But out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber we have removed the garments from our stores and online."

Well, that seems to be the end of the road for that collection because as of Wednesday, any search for Bieber's name on H&M's website returned zero results.

Back in September, the Sorry singer abruptly called off his Justice World Tour over serious health issues as he was diagnosed with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, a rare condition that can cause facial paralysis, adding to the number of times the tour has experienced unplanned delays or canceled due to Covid-19 or other health issues.

The singer announced he would be taking a break from touring for the time being as he needs time to rest and get better.

H&M Laid Off Staff Due To Drop In Sales

The Swedish retailer known for its merchandise lines with pop stars like Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish is the second largest international fashion retailer after Intidex. Last month, the company slashed its staff to eliminate 1,500 positions to cut costs after sales fell for the third quarter.

It looks like the company is going through it, and this Bieber issue isn't helping any further.
