The holidays are a time for giving, for friends and family to come together in order to show just how much they love and appreciate one another for all that they do.

It's also the perfect time to unapologetically stuff your face with a proverbial smorgasbord of yuletide treats and goodies — a fact that Kelly Clarkson understands all too well.

This year, in order to help usher in some new holiday traditions to your festive offerings, Kelly decided to recruit some of her famous friends into a cook-off so that she could crown the ultimate celebrity side dish.

Kelly is a huge fan of holiday decorations, tasty holiday-themed cocktails (with and without alcohol), and gathering with friends and family from far and wide. But above all else, in Kelly's mind, the holidays all boil down to one simple thing — food.

"The food is probably my favorite," Kelly explained. "Just because, one, you get to experience, like, everyone's kind of favorite thing for the holiday, and I get to experience eating it."

Kelly Then Revealed That She’d Recruited Some of Her Famous Friends To Participate in a Holiday Cook-Off

Unfortunately for Kelly, she didn't get the opportunity to actually try the dishes that were submitted, so the contest was based solely on aesthetics. However, she confidently assured her audience of her culinary expertise and vowed that she'd still be able to tell which dish she'd have on her own table just by looking at it.

Kelly Narrowed It Down To Three Selections.

They were: Blake Lively’s Sausage and Brie Puff Pastry, Jennifer Garner’s Sweet Potato Pudding, and Zooey Deschanel’s Mom’s Pecan Pie. Kelly also threw in a festive pomegranate martini, submitted by the iconic daytime TV personality, Oprah Winfrey, just for good measure.

The competition was fierce, as each decadent side dish was mouth-watering in its own right. But in the end, Kelly went with her gut and crowned Blake Lively as the ultimate winner.

"Blake Lively For The Win!" Kelly Exclaimed.

"Sausage and Brie puff pastry?! Oh my gosh, that sounds so good with Oprah’s drink, the pomegranate martini."

Among those celebrity side dishes that didn't make the cut were Carson Daly's Mom's Cloud Nine Mashed Potatoes, Tory Spelling's Bacon-Wrapped Green Beans, and Khloé Kardashian's Oreo Cake.
