Ellen Degeneres Shares an Emotional Video to Mourn the Passing of Long-Time Cast Member 'tWitch'

For the better part of two decades, The Ellen DeGeneres Show became a platform where the biggest celebrities appeared to promote their latest ventures. Also, given the rapport, DeGeneres is able to build and maintain with most A-List celebrities it also became a show where the biggest names in Hollywood spilled the juiciest secrets. While DeGeneres played an instrumental role in the growth and popularity of the show, a number of fan-favorite supporting cast members also played a vital role in the same.

A Big Loss

Earlier this week, reports confirmed that long-time DJ for The Ellen DeGeneres Show, tWitch was found dead in his motel room. A few hours back, DeGeneres took to Instagram to share her thoughts on losing one of her closest friends and biggest assets on her show. The 64-year-old talk show host posted an emotional video compiling the best moments she had with tWitch ever since he made his first appearance on the show.

Ellen said in her post, "Right now what I want to do is remember all the love and laughter I had with tWitch. He brought so much joy to my life. I know he brought joy to yours too. I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite moments with him. If you want to you can also share yours. #ILovetWitch."

Who is tWitch?

Stephen Laurel Boss, better known as 'tWitch,' rose to fame by finishing as runner-up on So You Think You Can Dance season four. He returned as an all-star in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and as a team captain in 2015. Boss was also a judge on the show in 2018 and 2022. 'tWitch' first made his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2013 and became a regular fixture from 2014 onwards till the show ultimately stopped earlier this year.

How Did He Pass Away?

Earlier this week Boss was found dead in a motel room. Reports suggest that he shot himself and the autopsy has confirmed the same and ruled out any foul play. His wife alerted the officials after he left the house without his car which was very unusual for him. 'tWitch' did not leave behind any note, therefore the reason behind the same is unknown at this point in time. The hotel employees found him dead in his room after he missed his checkout time and failed to answer multiple calls from reception.
