'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 15 Cast Revealed

RuPaul's Drag Race is back for its 15th season, and things just got interesting as this season features the largest cast ever, with a twin challenge going against each other. The show is slated to begin on January 6, with MTV being the show's official channel.

The little show has changed dramatically since RuPaul's Drag Race season 1 premiered in 2009, breaking countless barriers. Each season of RuPaul's Drag Race features participants chosen by the famed drag queen RuPaul. They compete for a six-figure grand prize by overcoming various amusing and dramatic challenges, runway themes, and lip-syncs.

Although the queens attempt to get along, the show's intense rivalry unavoidably resulted in severe clashes and memorable memes over the years.

The 16 Cast Revealed

With 16 brand-new queens being introduced, the Meet the Queens episode hosted by season 14 champion Willow Pill became the largest cast in Drag Race history. We could tell from the officially released photos that we will have plenty on our hands for the newest season.

RuPaul, the hostess recently discussed the show's renewal, saying

“When I hear season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, I have to pinch myself – I just won’t tell you where. We never take for granted the opportunity we’ve been given to showcase drag excellence and tell authentic queer stories. Thank you to the fans, World of Wonder, VH1, our cast and crew, and most of all, our brave and beautiful queens.”

Largest Prize In History

The Emmy-winning series' most recent episode will offer the largest prize in regular Drag Race her-story, with the queen who outlives her season 15 sisters set to receive $200,000 — an increase from season 14's $150,000 pot and doubles what winning queens have received since season 4. This follows a previously announced network switch from VH1 to MTV.
