Identical Twin Women Marry Identical Twin Men, Both Have Sons

Many of us out there have probably wondered what it's like to have an identical twin. Even fraternal twins probably wonder what it'd be like if their sibling looked and sounded just like them. As rare as identical twins are, finding two sets of twins who are married to one another must be even rarer.

But strange things happen all the time. A Reddit user who goes by Blxckdust recently posted a pic to the Damn That's Interesting community of identical twin sisters named Briana and Brittany. They married identical twin brothers named Josh and Jeremy. And as it so happens, each sister gave birth to a son around the same time.

First cousins share a set of grandparents, making their parents siblings. Double first cousins, on the other hand, share both sets of grandparents. This happens when a set of siblings marries a second set of siblings, and each couple has a kid (much like what happened in this Reddit post). They have 100% of the same ancestry and share much more DNA than typical first cousins. In fact, they'd genetically be closer to half-siblings than cousins.

But in this case, the parents are two sets of identical twins. Because of this, the boys could technically be considered full siblings (as if they both had the same mother and father). A case like this would be extremely rare indeed.

Many users point out the fact that the sons are genetically brothers, though legally just cousins. Many other users discuss how double cousins are not uncommon, though double cousins where both sets of parents are twins is probably incredibly rare.

Many commenters joked about how they could wield their twin powers for good, bad, and anything in between (though mostly bad). They'd probably save a fortune on mirrors, that's for sure.

Plus, if you're so genetically similar, you could probably get away with all sorts of really cool pranks.

Of Course, Many Thought It Was Plain Weird.

Some users felt that twins marrying twins and having genetically similar children was just plain weird. And you have to admit, it kind of is. Some commenters even identified as twins themselves, and found the prospect of marrying someone who looks identical to the person your twin is marrying a little much.
