Being a working-class mom comes with its anxiety, and this does not exempt celebrities. Hollywood stars Jennifer Lawrence and Viola Davis share their motherhood moments. The actresses also opened up about the challenges of female action heroes. 

Lawrence Opens Up About Motherhood Journey

The two actresses were having a chat on Variety's Actor on Actors series. Among the things discussed was their motherhood. Lawrence talked about her experience making Causeway in parts. The first part before the pandemic and returning pregnant two years later for the final part.

The actress shared that thinking about starting a family was scary. The Garden Party actress recalled being scared and asking countless questions. Fortunately, the fear she was feeling was mirrored in her character. After giving birth, the actress shared she often second-guessed her instincts when it comes to her son. 

Davis And Lawrence Bond Over Mom Moments

The conversation brought about a dive into their motherhood moments. Davis shared she mistakenly locked her daughter Genesis, in the car when she was younger. The actress shared that the incident happened at Target. After shutting the door, the actress realized she was not with her keys.

The Doubt actress threw herself on the concrete screaming about her baby. The actress shared she approached two men for help grabbing their necks. Through their help, she realized she was holding her phone all along and called the police for help. Lawrence also shared how she once drove without buckling her son into the car seat. "Good to know we all almost killed our kids," The actresses bonded over their mom moments. 

Conversation About Female Action Heroes Challenges 

Lawrence And Davis had more things to converse on. The Hollywood stars talked about female action heroes. Lawrence shared how only a few women get action lead roles compared to men. Davis also talked about her initial doubt that The Woman King would be approved by the industry.

In the movie, Davis plays the lead role of a general in the 1800s. She trains and leads an all-women warrior unit in Dahomey Africa. She shared her doubt about how they would be convinced black women could lead the global box office. 

Lawrence also talked about the responsibility of being a female action hero. This was because of the young audience of the four Hunger Games films. The actress had to lose weight for the role. She was worried younger girls would feel they could only dress up as Katniss if they were a particular weight. 

Lawrence And Davis Connect Over Their Acting Similarities

Aside from their action hero's challenges, Davis and Lawrence connect over their acting similarities. Despite their age and appearance differences, Davis shared she sees similarities in their acting. The 57-year-old actress shared she is drawn by how Lawrence brings life into her roles. The 32-year-old actress also commented on how Davis' performance in Fences changed her life. Davis also talked about how actors help others feel less alone in the world.
