George Displayed Chivalry At Its Finest

Over the weekend, George and his wife of eight years, Amal, arrived at the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony looking every bit the power couple that they were. The duo was dashing in their choice glams as Amal turned heads in a vision of red. The barrister slipped her svelte figure into a floor-length red Valentino evening gown paired with a matching clutch purse. The off-shoulder outfit bore a long cape that extended into a train all around her. She let her brunette wave down one side of her face while sporting minimal jewelry. Her husband looked handsome as always as he stood tall in a black tuxedo.

The couple posed for the paparazzi on the red carpet as they owned the moment. However, at a point, Amal's train became tangled such that it made her outfit a little awry. George, 61, wasted no time getting behind his wife to help adjust the piece of clothing.

Back in October, the star actor shared an update on his family while appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show. George fondly recalled how he proposed to his wife sharing the details, and how it almost flopped. The ER star relayed that it took him almost twenty minutes to get out all he wanted to say to his wife, despite practicing and planning ahead. The star referred to it as a "disaster" even as he planned "the whole thing out."

According to his plan, he left the ring in a drawer and the aim was to get Amal to one of the drawers and find the ring by herself. He stated how he blew out the handle and had her fish for it in the said drawer. When Amal saw the ring she initially thought it belonged to another woman who left it there years ago. However, she turned around to find George on his knees, with his late aunt Rosemary Clooney's song, Why Shouldn't I, playing in the background.

It was at this point that the realization dawned on her, and according to George she just kept exclaiming until she said yes. The movie star relayed that in the end, he was indeed able to pull it off.
