Zendaya and Tom have been crowned the perfect Hollywood couple by their fans; they are what we term "relationship goals." The best couples are founded on the pillars of friendship, even though they have kept their relationship private for the most part. This is evident from every tiny peek they have given fans into their love nest.

Baseless Rumors

This past weekend, a Twitter account for the pop culture community claimed that Zendaya and Tom Holland were "reportedly engaged" in secret. The tweet went viral, and other celebrity news fan accounts reposted it. It did not specify where the information came from or its source. On Twitter, thousands more users also shared. Although Holland and Zendaya haven't commented on the rumored engagement, Zendaya's mom, Claire Stoermer, appeared on her Instagram Story clarifying everything and even made the implication that the engagement rumors were untrue to get clicks.

“Clickbait typically refers to the practice of writing sensationalized or misleading headlines in order to attract clicks on a piece of content. It often relies on exaggerating claims or leaving out key information in order to encourage traffic. The term is generally used in a dismissive sense.”

Stoermer shared a screenshot of a note describing "click bait" on her Instagram Story on Wednesday night.

Although Stoermer didn't offer any extra explanation or responses, her IG story comes a few days after relationship rumors about the Spider-Man co-stars picked up steam.

Finding Love On Set

In an article just before the incident, Us Weekly cited a source who said that Zendaya and Holland are "both in settling-down mode and are planning for a real future together." In 2016, while portraying the love interests Peter and MJ for Spider-Man: Homecoming, the two met on set.

They instantly generated speculations when the Marvel movie debuted in theaters in 2017, thanks to their undeniable on-screen chemistry. Still, it wasn't until they were spotted giving each other PDA in July 2021 that their relationship was made official.

The Downsides Of Fame

Tom and Zendaya are very quiet and have tried to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. In November 2021, the Spider-Man star opened up to GQ about "the downsides of fame."

"Privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world; we sort of felt robbed of our privacy."
