Getting our dogs to listen can at times feel akin to herding cats — it's the ultimate exercise in futility. Just because a dog can listen, doesn't mean that they always will or even want to, for that matter.
Recently, TikTok user zoezoeandraerae was visiting her mother's house and decided to bring her bulldog Zoe along for the ride. While there, Zoe put on a clinic in animal defiance and proudly displayed her lack of obedience for all to see.
A quick scan through Zoe's social media reveals that this is a dog who knows how to throw an outfit together. Whereas most dogs wouldn't be caught dead in a sweater or costume, Zoe seems to enjoy nothing more than lounging around the house in her cozy Clemson shirt and snuggling up for a warm winter's nap in her holiday-print pajamas. She's a true doggy diva if ever there was one, and she also has the attitude to go with it.
In the video, Zoe can be seen cuddling on the couch with her grandma. She's dressed to kill and looks paws-itively adorable in her colorful hoodie. But once Zoe settles in with her grandma, she becomes completely unresponsive to her owner's commands.
"Y’all i can’t make this up," TikTok user zoezoeandraerae captioned the video. "I don’t matter when grandma is around."
Zoe continues to stare off indifferently until her owner says the magic phrase — "Zoe, want cookie?" Immediately the dog turns to face its owner, a look of piqued curiosity spreading across her sweet face. "Oh, you heard 'cookie' but you didn't hear your name. Well, you won't be getting a cookie," Zoe's owner informs her.
After Zoe feels that she's conveyed her feelings of dismay, she goes right back to happily ignoring her mom and lies down for a rest on grandma's lap. Not surprisingly, this isn't the first time that Zoe's made her emotions known.
Back in October of this year, Zoe's mom was getting ready to leave the house to run some errands. Sensing what was about to take place, Zoe stood her ground in the middle of the kitchen and proceeded to throw her mom a glance that could turn grown men to stone. It just goes to show you that even animals can have attitudes.
