Getting into show business is a tough gig. There are millions of extremely talented aspirants vying for a single spot in an advertisement campaign for a brand, or a role in a TV show or movie. Getting in can be the toughest part in such cases but once you’re in it is the talent and the hard work that keeps the individual going in show business. Recently, the likes of Ireland Baldwin, Lily Rose-Depp, and Lourdes Leon among others hit out at critics for advocating that ‘nepotism’ got them where they are in life at the moment.
The Issue At Hand
Having famous parents definitely opens up doors that would not otherwise open. It also gets you opportunities a lot quicker than other people that you’re competing against. However, once you get into the door staying relevant and getting the right jobs is all down to talent. Gwyneth Paltrow is the perfect example of the same, although she did have famous parents, a lot of what she has been able to achieve thus far has been down to her own talent. While on Hailey Bieber’s YouTube show, Paltrow said, “People are ready to pull you down and say you don’t belong there or you’re only there because of your dad or your mom or whatever the case may be.”

The daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose Depp , recently shared with Elle magazine how having successful parents does not guarantee success. Furthermore, she added that the lens of nepotism shines brighter on women which she feels is not a coincidence.
