Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson starred in Fool’s Gold, which was released in 2008. The movie had certain scenes where the duo had to kiss, and apparently, it wasn’t as good in real life as it looked on-screen.

Kate Hudson Opens Up About Kissing Matthew McConaughey

During The Jonathan Ross Show, Kate Hudson spoke about the last scene from Fool’s Gold where the duo had to kiss while being in the water. According to her, the kiss ended up being gross, especially because something or the other kept getting in the way such as wind and snot.

“Ocean, swimming and kissing is not always pleasant. Things happen in the ocean, like yuckiness… we’re like treading water trying to stay above water.”

In fact, while the story ended on a good note, it distracts from the fact that they’re actually trying to just keep their heads above the water's surface. At some point, it seems like Kate Hudson is somehow managing to keep a grasp on Matthew McConaughey’s head to complete the scene.

Matthew McConaughey Revealed His Opinion About The Same Kiss

While in a conversation with Yahoo! Entertainment in 2020, the actor spoke about the scene and revealed how the scene progressed.

"It’s like, OK, here’s the scene – you’re in the middle of the ocean, you go under the water and then come up out of the water like you’re gasping for air, you’re glad to be alive. Then you look at each other and you swim to each other and go into an embrace.”

However, after doing the entire scene, they realized that it did not look as good as they had expected, and had to redo the shot.

Matthew McConaughey And Kate Hudson Starred In A Famous Rom-Com

The actors have starred in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days as well. The movie was released in 2003 but is still available on streaming platforms due to the way it grabbed the audience’s attention.

While the characters have a happy ending, the story leading up to is a twisted path of pure comedy! Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey believe it would be a good idea to have a follow-up to the movie, but there haven’t been any ideas or projects revolving around it. The same.

“If for some reason, a great idea came across our desk and it read well, yeah I would totally revisit it. It could bring some interesting things.”
