The sad reality about celebrity romances is that most aren't made to last. Almost two years after first announcing their relationship to the world, actor/director Olivia Wilde and international singing sensation/budding pop icon, Harry Styles, have officially broken up.

The news comes as a shock and surprise to fans, as well as close friends of the couple. And while sources maintain that the split was amicable, it appears that Olivia may have been hit the hardest as Harry prepares to spend the next seven months abroad.

It's been nearly two years since the couple first announced their relationship to the world. In a report confirmed by PEOPLE magazine, the pair have decided to put their romance on an indefinite hiatus.

A source speaking with PEOPLE confirmed, "The break has been difficult for Olivia. They have had some issues, but Olivia thought they were gonna work through it all. She is disappointed. It's just a tricky situation, though."

According to an Insider, the Split Between Wilde and Styles Was As Amicable as Can Be

Unfortunately, the timing just wasn't right. Styles is completely invested in touring and performing internationally, while Olivia is dedicated to her work in LA — as well as her children whom she shares with her ex, Jason Sudeikis.

A friend of the couple said that at the end of the day, Harry and Olivia "Have different priorities that are keeping them apart." They may find each other down life's road but for now, there's just too much incompatibility.

Olivia, along with her son, Otis (8), and daughter, Daisy (6), danced their hearts out during Harry's encore performance of As It Was. The concert took place at the Kia Forum and marked the last of Harry's 15-show LA residency.

Styles is now set to embark upon an international world tour that will see him perform in Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, the UK, and Portugal — all over the course of the next seven months.

Styles Also Recently Starred In 'Don't Worry Darling', A Film Directed By His Now-Ex, Olivia Wilde.

Don't Worry Darling stars Styles opposite Florence Pugh, as a married couple living in an experimental community in the 1950s. Although it was at one point one of the most-hyped movies of the year, the film took in a meager $19 million on its opening weekend and boasts a regrettable Tomatometer Score of 38% on Rotten Tomatoes.
