We may have come up with some cool, amazing technology over the years, but sometimes nature itself is the most impressive thing you can come across. There are all sorts of amazing, mysterious phenomena that don't always make sense but can get you as excited as a kid on Christmas morning.

One Reddit user came across something you truly don't see every day: a sky covered in thick clouds and purple fog. The beautiful phenomenon almost doesn't make sense, but boy is it amazing to just stop and look at it for a little while.

The user did Reddit a favor by posting the picture of the amazing sky to the Mildly Interesting Sub.

The sky was covered in purple fog, which tinted the houses and street around OP's car.

Reddit user parkerhamster28 posted the pic, which they took from inside their car. The sky in the picture is covered in a thick layer of haze, and everything in the image is tinted purple. From the houses to the road to the reflection in the user's side mirror, there are very few parts of the picture that don't have at least a little bit of a purply tint to them. The effect is breathtaking in photo form and is probably much more exciting to actually see in person.

Users Had All Sorts Of Reactions To The Purple Sky.

Some users compared the purple sky to an album cover.

Some users joked about the image looking like an album cover, or that it was a corrupted image file where certain textures failed to load. To be honest, though, it actually would make for a good album cover.

Other People Referenced Prince In The Comments.

Some commenters immediately thought of Prince's Purple Rain, which would probably come out of purple clouds. And of course, once one user mentioned a Prince song, a bunch of other users chimed in to keep the joke going.

There Were A Few Who Even Made Reference To Taylor Swift.

One user joked about the fog sounding like a Taylor Swift song.

"'Purple Fog' wouldn't have been such a good name for the Taylor Swift song..." one user joked, referencing the song Lavender Haze, which appeared on Swift's latest album, Midnights. You have to admit, Purple Fog does kind of sound like it would be a knockoff song.

OP Later Discussed The Phenomenon In A Little More Depth.

One user pointed out how the color was closer to magenta.
reddit | chowmushi

After one user pointed out that the color was closer to magenta than true purple, and wondered if the lights in the area had anything to do with the color. OP responded and said that the combination of fog and the setting sun made the sky purple and that there were actually no clouds in the sky!
