If you've ever been to Starbucks, you know that their menu prices are a little steep. A coffee you can get for a couple bucks at one shop may cost you double at Starbucks. We know the prices are insane, but we pay them anyway. After all, it's Starbucks.

But one TikTok user called the company out for charging him for a cup of water with strawberries in it. The user, Sean Barry (@seantbh) posted the now-viral TikTok, featuring part of his receipt, showing a $6.50 charge.

The TikTok Was Uploaded Two Days Ago, And Already Has 66k Views.

The 6-second clip might be short, but it gets its point across in a pretty big (and kind of funny) way. "Starbucks after charging me 6.50 for an iced water with strawberries in it," the text overlay reads as a clip of Sean dancing in front of a green screen image of part of his Starbucks order plays. The image behind Sean clearly shows the $6.50 charge, which he did in fact pay for. The video is played with an upbeat song in the background, with the word "happy" repeated over and over.

Many commenters claimed to be current or former Starbucks employees. They explained that, while a cup of water is free, adding anything to it automatically turns it into a "custom tea." Essentially, you're paying for the labor, not the water itself.

Some commenters point out how the fact that Starbucks charges so much for custom tea is more recent because more and more customers began asking for water with strawberries and other inclusions thanks to TikTok trends. Though, many users were also in disbelief that it would cost that much.

Buying frozen strawberries from the grocery store and putting them in your own cup of water, as one user pointed out, would be infinitely cheaper than going to Starbucks to have a barista do it. And by that logic, it's more worthwhile to make any infused water drink at home.

Sean Later Took To The Comments To Add A Bit More Info.

Sean commented on his own TikTok about how he was mislead into the price.

In his comment, Sean explains that the online price was $0.66, and he didn't know it would be so expensive until he went to pay. Other users who work as baristas shared stories about customers complaining to them, pointing out how they don't make the rules.
