Mindy Kaling Reveals Superstitions Around Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star

The clip opens with Clarkson congratulating Kaling on her upcoming Hollywood Walk of Fame Star, which will be unveiled in a ceremony happening sometime next year. Kaling brings up the fact that Clarkson had her own ceremony earlier this year, where she was honored alongside the people who helped her throughout her career.

"I have never in 20 years had everyone from every part of my career under one tent for one thing," she said, telling Kaling that it was a pretty amazing experience. The two then discuss who Kaling might want to invite to her own ceremonies (after joking about how there are actually two ceremonies, including the Grauman's Chinese Theater handprint ceremony).

Throughout their conversation, Clarkson gives Kaling advice on what to expect, including how awkward it is to pose with the star since you'll be laying down on the street to do so.

"That look isn't great, but I'm sure you'll pull it off," Clarkson joked.

"I'll invite them, they're pretty busy," Kaling said. "I think there's a couple that'll definitely come, but I think it'll be fun." She then began discussing how she tends to have trouble commemorating her success.

"I try to, but I have trouble reflecting on success," she continued. "I feel like we spend too much time thinking about like, 'Oh you did a great job,' or 'you should commemorate this,' that something bad is gonna happen. She also revealed that she didn't have a baby shower because she was afraid something bad would happen then.

Clarkson, who felt the opposite, offered her own perspective. She felt that "you forget things that happen, because you didn't take that time to have that moment, you didn't take the time to commemorate it."

The two then joked about how they could show off to their kids (who probably don't care that much, in the grand scheme of things).
