TLC is full of odd yet fascinating reality shows you cannot help but tune in for. Typically, they revolve around people who live vastly different lives than we do (or they just show doctors popping pimples on patients).

And really, the same could be said about the Culpo sisters, who are the subject of TLC's newest series: The Culpo Sisters. Staring Olivia, Sophia, and Aurora, the show revolves around the sisters' lives in Los Angeles.

But it also seriously begs the question: who are they, and what exactly are they doing for a living?

It Seems Like Their Parents Have the Same Question

A clip from the show, which premiered on November 7th, shows the sisters' parents, Susan and Peter, explaining to the producers that they have no clue what their daughters are even doing.

"What the hell do they do?" Susan asks. "Because I don't know."

From their descriptions of Olivia asking her mom to pick a photo out of dozens, or the packages they get every single day and "act like it's their job to open them all," it's pretty clear that the Culpo sisters work as influencers (even if their parents have no idea what an influencer is).

But How Exactly Did They Get Here?

In the most literal sense, they got to LA from Rhode Island. But in terms of career trajectory, things began falling into place for the sisters years ago. A little-known fact that people have probably forgotten (unless you happen to be a huge fan) is that Olivia Culpo once dated Nick Jonas. Their relationship ended in 2015, but it's essentially how Olivia ended up in California in the first place.

As she explains in the series, "I had no brand, no money and I was in love. That was great right, but when [Nick] broke up with me, I was kind of left with no sense of identity… I couldn't even afford my groceries. It was a serious, pivotal moment for me, but it was something that taught me that you can't give up."

Before That, Though, She Was a Pageant Queen

In 2012, the then-20-year-old won the Miss USA Pageant, moving on to win Miss Universe the following year. At the time, the pageant world had pretty close ties to former president Trump (who was the owner of Miss USA the year Olivia won the pageant), but Culpo distanced herself from him after he announced his candidacy for president.

Nowadays, the Sisters Have Closer Ties With the NFL World

Both Olivia and Sophia are currently dating NFL athletes. Olivia is with Christian McCaffrey, who currently plays for the 49ers. Sophia, meanwhile, is with Jets player Braxton Berrios.

And of course, you can find each sister on Instagram. Olivia (@oliviaculpo) may have the highest follower count (with an impressive 5.2 million), but her sisters (@sophiaculpo and @auroraculpo) have definitely achieved influencer status as well.

You can catch The Culpo Sisters Monday nights on TLC.
