Nineties kids have been on an all-time high this year, with classic favorites and old rom-com stars reemerging. The latest celebrities to get a do-over are She's All That co-stars Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook, who reunited on the former's movie premiere earlier this month.

During an interview with Today, Prinze Jr. revealed that Cook was one of only two women to never hit on him during a movie set. For that reason, he chooses to remain friends forever and considers the actress like a sister.

'She's All That' (1999)

Cook and Prinze Jr. were love interests in the rom-com, She's All That in 1999, where the former played Laney Boggs, a nerdy student, and the latter was Zach Siler, a cliché jock who makes her his pet project. Zach's popular girlfriend, Taylor (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe), broke up with him for a famous reality TV star, so he plots to give Laney a makeover and help her become the school's prom queen and dethrone his ex. The movie has average ratings across review sites, but it doesn't affect its popularity amongst teenagers of all generations.

'He's All That' (2022)

Netflix re-adapted the movie with a gender flip called He's All That featuring two original cast members in grown-up roles - Cook and Matthew Lillard. The actress played Anna Sawyer, mother to social media star Addison Rae (Padgett), while Lillard was the school's principal.

Rae replaced Prinze Jr. as the popular kid who's a modern-day influencer, while Tanner Buchannan played the unpopular nerd.

According to Cook, Prinze Jr. approved the remake despite being unable to feature in any role. It has a worse review than its counterpart, so watch it only if you care for nostalgia.

'Christmas With You' Featuring Freddie Prinze Jr.

Meanwhile, Prinze Jr. starred in Christmas With You, a romantic comedy about a pop star who travels to a small town where she falls in love with a small-town boy. Cook joined him for the premiere in the US, giving us the mini-reunion we didn't know we needed.

The actor opened up about his best moments from the original movie and got emotional while talking about Paul Walker. He advised fans not to put off friendships and relationships because they could be gone at any moment.

Prinze Jr. confessed to fans dragging him for not being in the sequel, but he's glad people still care for the movie.

Lifelong Friendships And Relationships

Prinze Jr. married Sarah Michelle Gellar in 2002, co-starred in several movies together, and they have two children. On the other hand, their family friend, Cook, was married between 2004 and 2021 but divorced Daniel Gillies last year, and they have two children together.

Years later, the friends still check on each other and support their projects. When Prinze Jr. couldn't join the He's all That cast, he told Cook,

"It's not going to work out for me, but I totally obviously support you doing whatever you want with this. Go run with it. I'll support this movie all the way and everyone involved."
