They may not be able to speak, get jobs, or move out of the house, but our pets really are like our children. You can't help but want to be around them all day long.
Luckily, the feeling is pretty mutual. When it comes to dogs in particular, you might notice them trying to follow you around, snuggle up against you, or just trying to stay by your side as much as possible.
For one needy dog, his owner's attention is all he wants. But a new household member really put the pup to the test.
In a video uploaded by The Dodo, we get to look at the life of Jeremy, the dog dad of the adorable Kobe.
"Kobe is literally obsessed with me. It's honestly like he's my son," Jeremy said at the beginning of the video. He also remarks that Kobe gets incredibly jealous when Jeremy pays attention to anyone else and just wants his dad all to himself.
Everything changed, though, when Jeremy began dating Ella, who he knew he'd have to introduce to Kobe one day.
As Jeremy explains in the video, he was nervous that Kobe would see Ella as a replacement rather than an addition to the family. But allowing the two to form a bond made the transition much easier, and Kobe warmed up to Ella after just a few weeks.
The video also includes a surprise party that Kobe "threw" for Ella, which was honestly the adorable, feel-good moment we all needed right about now.
In addition to posting the video to YouTube, The Dodo also posted it on Twitter, where it gained a lot of love.
Users were absolutely obsessed with how adorable Kobe was in the video and how he showed so much love toward Ella in such a short period of time. It just shows that dogs are a treasure, and we don't deserve them.
They also expressed admiration for Jeremy in how he did his best to make sure that Kobe felt included and loved during such a huge life change. After all, Kobe had just learned that there was a new member to his small family.
