It's hard to believe that this still happens in Hollywood in 2022, but Bryce Dallas Howard revealed she was asked to lose weight for her role in Jurassic World: Dominion.

Bryce Dallas Howard is undeniably a beautiful woman on top of being a very talented actress who has been a staple in the Jurassic World franchise, so it's hard to believe that even she can't be free from the expectation that women have to always be striving towards weight loss. Unfortunately, the actress revealed she was asked to do just that for the latest film.

In a new interview, Bryce opened up about the experience making 'Jurassic World: Dominion.'

When asked by Metro about what her role in this franchise has meant for women in action films, Bryce responded, "What being in this third film allowed, how do I say this, how do I say this, how do I say this…[I’ve] been asked to not use my natural body in cinema."

Bryce explained that the request didn't come from director Colin Trevorrow.

"On the third movie, it was actually because there were so many women cast, it was something that Colin felt very strongly about in terms of protecting me," Bryce explained, stating that before filming, "the conversation came up again, 'we need to ask Bryce to lose weight.'"

Bryce revealed that Trevorrow stood up for her.

"He was like, 'There are lots of different kinds of women on this planet and there are lots of different kinds of women in our film," Bryce said, adding, "and I got to do so many stunts that wouldn’t have been possible if I had been dieting. So I’m really thrilled [at] all the action I got to do, and I got to do it with my body."

Bryce explained her body was at "maximum strength, and I hope it is just yet another indication of what’s possible."

We're glad that Bryce had a director willing to stand up for her on the job, and that it becomes less and less common for women to be told to lose weight for movie roles that have nothing to do with their bodies!
