On Thursday, it was reported that Ivana Trump, Donald Trump's first wife, had died.

At the time of the announcement, Ivana's ex-husband gave a statement marking the passing of the Czech-American socialite, businesswoman, mom, and retired model. She and former US President Donald Trump were married from 1977 to 1992 and had three children together — Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump.

Now, the cause of her death has been revealed as blunt impact injuries, as per TMZ.

In a statement released at the same time news broke of Ivana's death, Donald Trump mourned the passing of his first wife.

"I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there were many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. "

"She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life."

"Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!" the statement concluded.

In a statement released shortly after from her family, Ivana was called "an incredible woman—a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend."

“Ivana Trump was a survivor,” their tribute continued. "She fled from communism and embraced this country."

"She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children & 10 grandchildren."

TMZ reported that an autopsy was completed on Friday and the cause of the 73-year-old's death has been confirmed.

Ivana died of blunt impact injuries to her torso after falling down the stairs in her home.

TMZ reported that police got a call just after 12:30 PM ET Thursday saying that Ivana had gone into cardiac arrest.

Shortly after Ivana's death, her youngest son Eric Trump was spotted outside her home telling the paparazzi that it was a "very sad day."

As reported by CNBC, the elder Trump children, Donald Jr., and Ivanka, had been set to be deposed by investigators from Attorney General Letitia James’s office next week, as part of an onging investigation into the Trump Organization.

In a January court filing, it was reported that Eric Trump had also been deposed in the case, but invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination more than 500 times.

In light of Ivana's death, the depositions have been rescheduled.
