Social media is fantastic for documenting the mishaps, missteps, and even happy accidents that can happen in our society.
One recent encounter had all the ingredients for a big fight, but thanks to the good humor of all involved, it’s just a generally wholesome story. It’s a wholesome story that involves a well-known adult film star, but it’s still pretty nice.

At one time, people would seek autographs. That’s kind of fallen out of favor in recent years, as most of us would prefer to have a proper selfie with the celeb.
One woman’s husband stopped himself short of asking for an autograph or a selfie, but his excited behavior did not go unnoticed by his wife.
The couple was enjoying a date night in Paris.
Influencer Lya Mariella was out on the town with her husband Nickolas when someone captured her husband’s attention. It was a person who’s extremely well-known in certain corners of the internet.
He’d spotted Mia Khalifa.
Khalifa has a college degree and has worked as a paralegal and bookkeeper . But the reason she’s most famous — and you may already know this — is that she spent five years as an adult film star, one of the most popular ones in the world.
Nickolas could hardly control himself.
Back to our couple on date night: after Nickolas noticed Mia Khalifa, he grew so excited that he apparently disconnected entirely from his wife, Lya. In response, Lya posted a short video on TikTok with the caption “Not okay” that showed her rolling her eyes at the absurdity of the situation.
Commenters were on Lya’s side.
Any etiquette coach would (probably) tell anyone that they should pay attention to their partner, not a nearby adult film star, on date night. Commenters were quick to comfort Lya, even though she’d posted the video with tongue planted firmly in cheek.
Mia herself even suggested that Nickolas should buy his wife an expensive Birkin bag as a way to apologize.
Spoiler alert: she got the bag.
It should be noted that Birkin bags aren’t any old bags. They range in price from about $10,000 and go all the way up to a quarter of a million dollars.
We’re not sure how much Nickolas paid for this apology bag, but it sure wasn’t cheap.
Mia Khalifa noticed the whole thing.
I’m not sure how it would feel to distract a stranger so much that he was forced to buy an expensive handbag for his wife to apologize, but Mia Khalifa evidently feels flattered. She tweeted about the whole situation shortly after.
Mia and Lya met up.
Because this Birkin bag saga must continue, Mia Khalifa and Lya Mariella, two boss influencers, joined forces in Paris. Nickolas took part in the video, which means that he finally got to meet Mia Khalifa.
They welcomed the bag together.
Because the arrival of an expensive designer bag is a joyous occasion, Lya decided to do a “christening” for her little bundle of joy. Mia Khalifa, good sport that she is, showed up to act as the bag’s godmother.
It’s a cute story.
Not all of us have the means to lead a jet-setting lifestyle and frivolously buy $10,000 bags as gifts, but that’s no reason to be jealous. An influencer has a new bag and a new friend, while her husband has…um, online infamy, I suppose. All’s well that ends well.
