A traffic reporter who used to be a cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins was shocked to find out that the dating profile her friends made for her was put on a billboard seen by the thousands who walk through New York City's Times Square every day.

Although the fastest way to promote yourself nowadays is to hope that one of your social media posts goes viral, that doesn't mean the classic trick of putting what you want to say on a billboard has completely fallen out of fashion.

Whether you want to pay to recognize someone special in your life or make a statement with the other side of the billboard, it's often not that hard to find someone who will take your money and show your neck of the woods your special message.

And as we've often seen, matters of the heart are usually the biggest inspiration for these grand statements, but what if that turns out even grander than you ever intended?

That's what happened to one woman and her friends after their idea got bigger than any of them ever would have anticipated.

By this point, Sha Tabb of Fort Lauderdale, Florida has enjoyed quite the enviable career.

In addition to spending over a decade working as a broadcaster before landing in her current gig as a traffic reporter for TV and radio, she was once a cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins and a model who worked with Pitbull and appeared in a Cardi B video.

But while she's had some real success in life, that apparently hasn't been true in the dating department.

As she told People, "My dating life feels non-existent. For a while, it didn't bother me that I wasn't dating. I was on a couple of apps, I would go out on dates and then the guys would ghost me."

This led her to delete every app she was using but since her best friends knew she wanted to find love, they put her back in the game.

Her friends Jacqui Duran and Sheri Ralliford had heard about an app called Wingman where they could build and maintain her dating profile for her.

And in her testimonial on this app, Duran expressed her disbelief that Tabb is still single considering what she has going for her inside and out.

In her words, "We're always laughing, dancing. Honestly, there's not a time where I've been with Sha and I'm not in the best mood ever."

And judging by what happened after this profile was made, it seems that the company behind Wingman thought Tabb was quite the catch as well.

So they had Tabb's dating profile splayed across a 48-foot billboard installed in Times Square on May 3 that the company intends to keep up until June 19.

Not even her friends saw this development coming and seeing her dating profile so prominently displayed has been surreal for Tabb.

As she put it, "It's the weirdest thing ever on this earth. I've done modeling in the past, so I've had my face on things, but normally I'm promoting other things for people or other products. Now, I'm promoting myself."

And while she said on Instagram that the billboard didn't initially get her any more dates than before, it looks like things could be changing soon.

In the month since the billboard has gone up, Ralliford said that the emails have been pouring in and she and Duran are taking their time with vetting each potential partner.

She said they want to give her friend a lot of very tough choices to the point that she ends up essentially starring in a non-televised version of The Bachelorette and Tabb has completely given control of the selection process over to them.

They also said that no matter who Tabb dates, they'll be sure to keep watch.

As for what she's looking for, Tabb said, "I want my other half, I want my best friend. I want somebody who has integrity, someone who wants to travel with me, who wants to have adventures with me and make decisions with me, be my cheerleader."
