Any parent will know that once the kids are out of school for the summer, chaos can take over your home. So what is a parent to do? Well, if you're this clever mom, you'll come up with something to keep the kids occupied.

And she created what she calls a "summer clock" to do just that. I'm going to show you just how easy it is for you to do the same. Check it out.

McKinnley Matson is a mom who recently posted a smart hack on TikTok.

Now that her kids are out of school for the summer, she knew she wanted to avoid boredom in her house. So, she created a "summer clock" to keep track of her kids' time.

Here's how you can do it, too.

First, this mom broke her kids' day down to a schedule that would work for the family. She set aside time for lunch, chores, playtime and snacks, exercise, family time, morning and bedtime, learning, activity, and snack. And then she decided to turn it into an actual clock.

McKinnley transferred this information into a pie chart.

Then, she went out to Walmart and grabbed a $4 clock and $2 magnets. After that, all she had to do was to disassemble the clock by removing the back. She removed the clock hands and the battery pack.

She used the clock's faceplate as a template for her pie chart.

Then she aligned her summer schedule pie chart with the clock's face, cut it out, and replaced the original clock with her summer schedule. Easy, peasy, ha, ha.

She then carefully taped everything down before putting the glass back on top to reassemble the clock. Here's an important step — make sure the clock works well before you glue everything down into place.

That's so cool, right?

In the end, she used a hot glue gun to secure her magnet to the back of the clock and then stuck it on the fridge. Now the whole family can easily see the clock and follow the schedule.

After she posted her #MomHack on TikTok other moms started chiming in.

And needless to say, they loved this idea. They were super impressed by how simple this concept was to create and that you can achieve it in under $10.

Other moms also wanted to know more details.

For example, they asked McKinnley to give them the breakdown of her kids' schedules. Some even suggested that she offer this on Etsy with a customizable option. Heck, I bet many moms would buy this in a heartbeat, huh?

So what do you think of this summer schedule clock idea?

Is this something your family could find helpful? It definitely beats trying to figure out how to keep the kids occupied. Instead, they have their day set, and they can go about getting all their stuff done. And mom doesn't have to chase them around the house to keep them in line. Do you know what I'm saying? Ha, ha!
