It really is amazing how even the tiniest slice of power can go to somebody's head.

That's something that so many people who have ever had to deal with airport security checkpoints can relate to, but even more of us are likely to see that phenomenon in action while we're at work.

Although the internet has always been full of stories of aggrieved employees dealing with their unreasonable bosses if you knew where to look, it seems that tales like theirs are going viral with greater regularity than ever nowadays.

And while some of them detail shockingly heartless reactions to incidents when workers had to take time off for serious emergencies, others are more in line with the kind of petty control that our friends and neighbors have to deal with every day.

But as frustrating as these stories can be to hear about, that makes it all the more satisfying when those workers and their supporters can turn the tables on the people making their lives harder.

And one man's story serves as a perfect example of the old adage that living well is the best revenge.

Be advised that the video featured in this article contains explicit language

In a video uploaded to TikTok on April 2, a man who goes by Retail King described the brief period in which he worked as a cashier for the international supermarket chain Aldi.

And one of the first things that stood out to him about their business practices is that unlike many other stores, employees at their registers are allowed to sit in chairs while they work.

But while he thought the pay was good, his experiences with his branch's direct management compelled him to leave after a couple of months.

In particular, he seemed to hold a grudge regarding a specific store manager named Colleen.

And as he saw it, the most blatant example of her petty power trips came on a busy day that saw her call him into her office and write him up for sitting in his chair "too comfortably."

At first, he thought she was joking.

However, she made it clear that she was dead serious when she said, "Your back is to be arched forward like this so you can maximize your items per minute."

Not only does that sound like a great way to mess up your posture and put undue strain on your back, but Retail King explained that it was intended to achieve a goal he was already meeting.

As he said, "I was the fastest cashier over there."

He confirmed this after a user left a comment stating that they rang up items between 110% and 130% faster than average, to which he replied that he averaged 200%.

So from the sounds of things, Colleen was a major factor behind why he left Aldi and it was to her that he dedicated a special message at the end of the video.

As you can see here, the final shot of his clip takes place in his own office where he revealed that he's actually the manager of the undisclosed store he now works at.

And we can bet that he'll never tell a hard-working employee they're sitting in a chair "too comfortably."
