"To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities," his ex-wife, Demi Moore, penned alongside a photo of the Die Hard star.

Moore explained that Willis will be stepping back from his acting career due to his disorder.

"As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him," she wrote on behalf of herself and Willis' children.

"This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support," she continued.

"We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him."

For those who don't know, aphasia is a condition usually caused by an injury or a stroke that affects the part of the brain associated with language and communication. People with aphasia may struggle to speak, read, and listen. There is no known cure for the condition.

"As Bruce always says, 'Live it up,' and together we plan to do just that," the message concluded.

While Moore's post was met with countless supportive comments from friends, fans, and other celebrities including Jamie Lee Curtis, Kelly Ripa, Cindy Crawford, and Busy Philipps, Travolta showed his support with a post of his own, paying tribute to Willis.

He began by revealing where his and Willis' friendship all started.

Accordin to Travolta, it began on the set of Look Who's Talking, and then again on the set of Pulp Fiction.

"Bruce and I became good friends when we shared two of our biggest hits together, 'Pulp Fiction' and 'Look Who’s Talking,'" Travolta began, alongside two throwback photos of he and Willis.

He then revealed something Willis had said to him years after becoming friends.

"Years later he said to me, 'John, I just want you to know that when something good happens to you, I feel like it’s happening to me,'" he went on.
