In the days following the 2022 Academy Awards, it seems like everyone and their brother has something to say about what transpired that night. I personally don't think it's our place to judge and speculate and dissect — but that's just me.

Now, three days after the event, Chris Rock broke his silence about the Will Smith slap at his comedy show in Boston Wednesday night.

In the days following Sunday night's altercation, both Will Smith and Jada Pinkett have addressed the situation.

On Monday night, Will shared an emotional message on his social media apologizing to both Chris and the Academy.

"Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable," he wrote.

"Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally."

"I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong," he continued.

"I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."

"I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world," he added.

"I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us."

Following her husband's post, Jada shared an inspirational message on her social media as a way to break her silence.

"This is a season for healing and I'm here for it," the quote read.

On Wednesday night, Chris addressed the situation at his sold-out comedy show in Boston.

In case you missed the memo, Chris Rock's comedy tour ticket sales have skyrocketed since Sunday night.

"How was your weekend?" Chris jokingly greeted the crowd, as reported by BBC.

The 57-year old then explained to fans that he had written the "show before all this nonsense happened," but promised to properly address the incident soon.

"I'm still kind of processing what happened, so at some point I'll talk about that," he said.

"And it'll be serious and it'll be funny, but right now I'm going to tell some jokes."

He then went on to say he hasn't spoken to anyone yet, contrary to what news outlets have been reporting.

"I haven't talked to anyone, despite what you heard," Chris explained.

Following the set, BBC spoke to a man who attended the show and asked how fans reacted to the comedian.

"As soon as he got on stage, we immediately broke into a standing ovation," he explained.

"He couldn't get a word out for a few minutes. And we saw him wipe the tears from his eyes, which, you know, it made him feel good, obviously."

I think I speak for all of us when I say I'm curious to know what else the comedian will say in regards to the event!
