Teacher Goes Viral After Expertly Leading Students In 'Thriller' Flash Mob Dance

While we should definitely appreciate all of our educators, I think it's fair to say that some teachers really stand out from the rest.

Usually those are the ones who tell you to call them by their first name, or who openly swear in class, or who show actually good movies on the regular and somehow manage to relate them to the curriculum so they're technically a lesson.

But one teacher at Birney School in Southfield, Michigan, has won over the hearts of students everywhere for one very cool reason: her sick dance moves.

Jennier Hawkins was recently filmed leading a group of students in a "Thriller" flash mob dance.

In the viral video, the K-8 dance teacher can be seen taking the lead as she stands apart from the dozen or so girls who were also part of the epic display.

As Michael Jackson's legendary Halloween hit, "Thriller", plays in the background, the dancing begins.

Hawkins and the students zombie-march to the beat as delighted classmates lining either side of the halls clap and cheer along.

The troupe continues to throw their heads from side to side and flail their arms in true MJ fashion.

I think perhaps the most impressive part of the entire routine, apart from Ms. Hawkins' impressive moves, is the fact that all the girls stay in near perfect synchronicity the entire number. This is clearly a talented bunch.

The video was initially posted on YouTube before it was eventually shared to Twitter where it gained even more views.

Since it was shared on October 27, the video has racked up over 3.9 million views and more than 110,000 likes.

Unsurprisingly, the people of the internet can't get enough of Hawkin's sweet moves and have praised the teacher for taking part in the dance.

"She's so good!" one user wrote. "I could NOT stop watching."

Another added, "I love love love this! This is a great way to build relationships with your students."

Others wish the video was longer so they could really see Hawkins and the whole troupe bust out some serious moves.

"I'd love to see their entire routine!" someone wrote. "I'm loving this on so many levels."

Personally, I could watch teachers dance all day, but it's especially enjoyable when those teachers actually know how to dance.

One person even said the video reminded them of how great the Thriller dance can be, when done properly.

The choreography has understandably become a pop-culture trend, with so many people attempting to recreate Jackson's iconic moves.

While not everyone's successful, it's definitely nice to see it done right by someone who knows how to pop their hips and hit every beat, just like MJ.

Then, of course, there were those who just had to bring some Michael Jackson controversy into the mix.

The late "King of Pop" has been hotly contested after multiple child abuse allegations have emerged.

Most recently, an unearthed transcript depicts a bizarre dinner conversation between Jackson and Marlon Brando back in 1994 in which they chatted about sex, child abuse, and "human emotions."

However, the video also had some passionate Jackson supporters who came to the late star's defense.

As this person wrote, "Somebody send this video to Oprah and her rich friends who tried to destroy MJ legacy."
