Ghost Rider actor, Nicolas Cage, 58, and his wife Riko Shibata, 27, are expecting their first child together, and they already have a name picked out.
In a recent interview with GQ for the their April issue, Cage opened up about how his growing family, his love for his wife, and how she has been preparing for first-time parenthood.
The pair first met in Japan in 2020, but unfortunately, they were forced to spend the subsequent year maintaining a long distance relationship for the most part, due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. Once they were finally able to visit each other again, things started to get even more serious between the two.
It wasn't long before he decided to pop the question! But he did it in a rather unconventional way, given their circumstance.
"I got her a black diamond engagement ring. Her favorite color is black, so she wanted the black gold and the black diamond. I customized and personalized it, and I actually sent it to her FedEx," he explained on the radio show.
They hosted a "very small and intimate" ceremony at the Wynn Las Vegas, in the outdoor Primrose Court area.
This will be Shibata's first child, while Cage already shares two sons with a previous partner, a 31-year-old, Weston, and a 16-year-old, Kal-El. This is also Cage's fifth marriage.
He also revealed that they already have a couple of potential names picked out, including Akira Francesco, and Lennon Augie.
He went on, gushing over his fifth marriage, assuring that it will be his last.
"It's my expression of saying, 'I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you,'" he continued.
Weston Cage Coppola, 31, is Cage's eldest son. He's followed in his father's footsteps and pursued an acting career, appearing in a number of films including some which are currently in pre-production.
Kal-El famously shares a name with Superman. Interestingly, despite only being a teenager, Kal-El actually voiced another DC character, young Bruce Wayne, in Teen Titans GO! To The Movies.
He was married to Patricia Arquette from 1995--2001 and Lisa Marie Presley from 2002--2004. Prior to marrying Shibata, he married and divorced Erika Koike in 2019.
