Recently, Amal opened up and gave fans a glimpse into her marriage to Hollywood A-lister, George Clooney . On this most important International Women’s Day, let’s celebrate Amal and the deep connection she shares with the love of her life.

The 44-year-old human rights lawyer has made a name for herself both in and out of the courtroom. Most recently, Amal was named as one of Time magazine’s 12 Women of the Year .
While speaking with the revered magazine, Amal explained that one of her biggest motivating factors is her children.
“With everything going on today, I want to have a good answer when [my twins] ask me what I was doing,” Amal said .
Amal also took a moment to get personal and talk about the other love her life, George Clooney.
Amal didn’t hold back, stating candidly that her marriage to partner George Clooney these past eight years has been an incredibly wonderful journey.
‘I have in my husband a partner who is incredibly inspirational and supportive, and we have a home filled with love and laughter,” Amal said.
She continued on, adding that “It is a joy beyond anything I could ever have imagined .”
Amal also made sure to mention just how lucky she truly feels to have found such a powerful love.
According to Amal, her great love for George Clooney, as well as the joy of motherhood, is where she finds her balance in life.
“In terms of an increased public profile, I think all I can do is try to turn the spotlight to what is important,” Amal explained.
Amal’s words echo statements that George Clooney has also made on numerous occasions over the past eight years.
While doing a podcast interview, George spilled all the tea on how he knew that Amal was the one for him.
“The truth was, I met this amazing woman and she took my breath away,” George admitted. “She was brilliant and funny and beautiful and kind. I was sort of swept off my feet .”
George said that he of all people was the most surprised by the effect Amal had on him.
It truly was love at first sight, as the proverbial bachelor popped the big question to his bride-to-be mere months after their first encounter.
Hollywood’s favorite silver fox also spoke about fatherhood and why he waited until his 50s to have children.
In short, George was simply waiting for the right woman to come along to have them with. “I felt like I had a pretty full life,” George reasoned to TODAY .
‘Then I met Amal and realized that my life had been pretty empty,” he said.
George went on to say “And then when you throw these two kids in there, then suddenly you realize how incredibly empty it was .”
These days, George now feels that his life is complete and believes that fatherhood is was makes it fun.
