Recently, Amal opened up and gave fans a glimpse into her marriage to Hollywood A-lister, George Clooney. On this most important International Women's Day, let's celebrate Amal and the deep connection she shares with the love of her life.
The 44-year-old human rights lawyer has made a name for herself both in and out of the courtroom. Most recently, Amal was named as one of Time magazine's 12 Women of the Year.
"With everything going on today, I want to have a good answer when [my twins] ask me what I was doing," Amal said.
Amal didn't hold back, stating candidly that her marriage to partner George Clooney these past eight years has been an incredibly wonderful journey.
She continued on, adding that "It is a joy beyond anything I could ever have imagined."
According to Amal, her great love for George Clooney, as well as the joy of motherhood, is where she finds her balance in life.
Amal's words echo statements that George Clooney has also made on numerous occasions over the past eight years.
"The truth was, I met this amazing woman and she took my breath away," George admitted. "She was brilliant and funny and beautiful and kind. I was sort of swept off my feet."
It truly was love at first sight, as the proverbial bachelor popped the big question to his bride-to-be mere months after their first encounter.
In short, George was simply waiting for the right woman to come along to have them with. "I felt like I had a pretty full life," George reasoned to TODAY.
George went on to say "And then when you throw these two kids in there, then suddenly you realize how incredibly empty it was."
