Although crows have long had a pretty morbid public image (which I suppose is to be expected when a group of them is called "a murder"), recent years have seen a lot more people coming around to the misunderstood birds.
Considering how intelligent crows have proven themselves to be and how helpful that intelligence can be in the right circumstances, there are some clear benefits to getting on their good side. And as some stories have illustrated, it turns out that isn't so hard because they're often a lot friendlier than their fearsome reputation suggests.
But at the same time, crows aren't something you want to mess with. And while some might expect that antagonizing them would put someone at risk of re-enacting a scene from The Birds, one tale tells us that their revenge can be a lot more subtle and clever than that.
