Let me ask you something: why do you get tattoos? Is it just for the sake of it or for the sheer artistry of the design? Well, if it's the latter, I bet you're going to get a kick out of this story.

There is a tattoo artist out there who is living proof that you don't even have to know how to draw beautifully to be able to tattoo people. In fact, in this case, it's quite the opposite. The lack of this artist's drawing skills draws people in. Check it out and see for yourself.

Helen Fernandes is a Brazilian tattoo artist known for her unique tattoo designs.

In fact, she even honed the name "tatuagens peba," which translates to English as "trash tattoos," ha, ha. This is what she likes to call her unusual and contemporary designs.

When you look at her tattoo style you'll totally get why.

All her designs look pretty much like a child has drawn them, ha, ha. But surprise, surprise, people actually love that. Fernandes' Instagram has a whooping 16,000 followers. And she doesn't show signs of slowing down her work.

If that appeals to you then who are we to judge?

Check this out: Fernandes' chosen style is quite similar to the "Bad Painting" trend that was popular back in the day, which is now making a comeback, too. So if that floats your boat, you'll definitely love her unique and creative tattoos.

I mean, what is not to love about this, huh?

These days there are many people out there who want to break certain boundaries, and thinking outside the box is pretty much encouraged. I think this artist is definitely doing that and then some.

Check out this tattoo here.

Isn't it the cutest or what? I don't know about you, but I think it's so fun. I wouldn't actually mind having a design like this on my leg at all. How about you?

Here's an interesting take on this.

It's not surprising that some people see the true beauty in what others might call a poor artistic judgment. After all, these tattoos are all in good fun, no? So what's the harm in that, huh?

If you're a "Simpsons" fan, I bet you'll love this one.

Ha, ha! That's quite a different take on a traditional cartoon tattoo. Am I right? But I have to say there's something so cool about it and I like that.

Get this.

Some people have said that perhaps this is just a "gimmick" the artist is using. And she can actually draw much better than she appears to be. Hmm, interesting. I haven't thought of that angle. What do you think?

I mean it's possible, right?

There are worst things people have done to stand out. So that may very well be the case here, but regardless of the angle, these tattoos are surely unique.

Look at this little guy here.

Wouldn't you want to put him on your skin? I think this tattoo is adorable, and it wouldn't bug me to see it every day. In fact, it's starting to grow on me.

How about this cat tattoo?

As a cat lover, I approve. It's not the typical feline portrait, but then again, why would you want to have something that's just plain and boring, huh? This one will definitely be a conversation piece.

Where there are cats, there are rats.

Oh my goodness, ha, ha! Are they attacking a cabbage here? Well, that's something I have seen immortalized in a tattoo before. That's for sure. How about you? Do you love it as much as I do?

If you could uniquely express yourself, would you do it via a tattoo like this?

It's definitely out of the ordinary. Don't you think? If you want to stand out, then do it.

I love the fact that these tattoos are so different.

And secondly, I adore the fact that most of them are so fun. Check out this design, for example. Wouldn't it just make you laugh if you saw it? Oh, yeah. That's right.

I don't know about you, but I'm not into boring tattoos.

In fact, it's quite the opposite. The more creative and unique tattoo, the more I dig it. Are you with me? So what are you waiting for, eh? Just get it already, hee-hee.

I've always wanted to get a sun and moon tattoo.

I've just never seen one like this before. Oh my goodness. That is one hilarious scene, no? I absolutely love it. It's such a different take on this concept.

And did I tell you I'm completely obsessed with Egypt?

Oh, yeah, that's right. So when I saw this tattoo design here, I couldn't help but laugh out loud. It isn't exactly what I had in mind, but the concept made me smile, alright.

Winner winner, chicken dinner.

Well, I don't know if you would want to consume this one here, lol. It looks like it might give you some trouble, that's for sure. I'm totally digging this design. Do you?

So, what's your take on this unique "trash tattoo" idea?

Would you consider any of these "silly" designs to have inked on your body? Or are you a traditionalist and would prefer to stick to one of the tried and true styles out there?
