Jensen Ackles has been slowly building a loyal cult following for more than a decade. He won our hearts as the rebellious demon hunter, Dean Winchester, and now after more than 15 seasons, Supernatural is coming to a close.
But if you think there’s nothing more to Jensen other than saving people and hunting things, you’re grossly mistaken.

1. Jensen is a talented musician.

Jensen is an impressive guitarist with an incredibly powerful voice. Just listen to his duet performing The Band’s immortal classic ” The Weight “.
He even manages to hit the high harmonies! Very impressive, Jensen.
2. He is best friends with Jared Padalecki in real life.
So much so that their bromance has come to be affectionately known to Supernatural fans as J2.
Both Jensen and Jared call Austin, TX their home, which makes it easy for them to see a lot of each other.
3. Jensen owns and operates his own brewery!

Jensen says the idea came after he and his brother-in-law attempted to brew their own beer.
It took a lot of research, time, and dedication but now Family Business Brewery is going strong and open to the public!
4. For his 40th birthday, Jensen had four different birthday parties!

I’m hard-pressed to get my best friends to show up on my actual birthday, so clearly Jensen has to be a pretty popular guy if he can manage to squeeze out four separate parties!
5. He’s a prankster at heart.

One of the favorite past times for Jensen while on the set of Supernatural is playing pranks.
Unfortunately for his fellow castmates, especially Misha Collins , this means that at any given time — you’re likely to get a pie in the face!
6. Jensen has a tattoo for each of his three children.

The tattoo that you see on his left bicep is of a jaybird , for his daughter.
Jensen also has a knot with an arrow through it to commemorate the birth of his young twins!
He also has matching tattoos with Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Jared Padelecki!
Jeffrey played John Winchester on Supernatural , the father to Sam and Dean.
At Jeffrey’s wedding, the fictional father/son trio all got matching crown tattoos on their wrists. Jensen even performed at the ceremony, according to Jeffrey.
7. Jensen was once a Soap Opera star!

Jensen had a recurring role on Days Of Our Lives , playing Eric Brady. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award three consecutive years in a row.
If you think that’s crazy, Jensen also won the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Male Newcomer in 1998.
8. Jensen made a cameo appearance on a very popular kids’ show!
Do you remember the show Wishbone ?
I used to watch it all the time. In fact, I can still hear the theme song in my head! “What’s the story, Wishbone?” Ah, memories. Fun fact: it was Jensen’s first walk-on part!
9. His kids have the absolute coolest names.
Their names are Justice, Arrow, and Zeppelin . Now, I know those may sound a bit strange at first but keep in mind that the parents are named Jensen and Danneel.
Believe it or not, Zeppelin isn’t named after the band Led Zeppelin, either.
He was actually named after the Zeppelin knot!
During an interview with Ryan Secrest and Kelly Ripa, Jensen explained how his son’s umbilical cord became knotted during birth.
After he was delivered safely, Jensen began reading a book of sailing knots . The rest, so they say, is history.
10. There’s one episode of *Supernatural* that Jensen believes is the most terrifying.

It happened all the way back in season 1 in an episode titled “The Benders”. It revolved around a deranged family who would kidnap human beings in order to hunt them.
“That for me personally could be much more real as opposed to a…chupacabra?”
11. He seriously loves being a dad.

Jensen’s Instagram is overflowing with the most adorable pictures of his kids. Clearly, it’s family first for Jensen.

12. Jensen is rumored to be the next Batman in the Arrowverse!

Jensen teased this photo of himself last Halloween . With Supernatural now in his rearview, could the stars possibly align to give us the Batman we both need and deserve?! I sure hope so.
